This guide is for the NES port. For the original version of this game for MS-DOS and SNES, see Mario's Time Machine.

Mario's Time Machine is an educationalplatformer originally released for MS-DOS and then for the NES and SNES. The Software Toolworks both developed and published the MS-DOS and Super NES versions in 1993, while the NES version was developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Nintendo in 1994. The MS-DOS version was re-released as Mario's Time Machine Deluxe in 1996.

Mario's Time Machine is one of several educational Mario video games that were released during the early 1990s; the game focuses on teaching human history. While the gameplay and engine varies between the three different versions, the story is roughly the same: the player assumes the role of Mario, who uses a time machine to return various artifacts, which had been stolen by Bowser, to their correct points in time.

Talk with Beth. Raw Fusion. There are three hidden secrets in the restaurant: there is a board, and you may also want to check the scheme that Beth is studying. Investigate the radio recording behind the door (once the conversation is over, you may open it).

Go and meet with Sofia, she is by the time machine. There is a Chronon Source on the left. Use the ladder and head upstairs to check the machine. Do that and climb the steel construction to reach the restart button above the machine.

Go right and talk to your companion. Don't forget to check the laptop, turn on the TV and collect the Quantum Ripple. Other secrets scattered around are: a scheme drawn with a pen, Will's diary and a poster (their locations may differ, and it depends on whether Amy or Nick is your companion).

Walk through the white door and a cut scene will begin. After a dialogue between Jack and Amy (you will unlock Distant Mirror) you can collect Will and Jack's photo from the previous room, Beth's notes and Chronon Source from the toilet (follow Beth to the second toilet and take it from the wall).

Get on the construction and move towards the pool to activate the correct switches and start the machine. Use the trampoline to get higher and reach the button. Use Time Vision, to collect the nearby Chronon Source.

Go downstairs to Dr. Amaral, use the terminal and enter the machine. You will see a cut scene and complete the level. You will also unlock Take That Trip.
