Re: BOOTMGR is missing Hi, thanks for the response - because it doesn't have a CD drive, it didn't come with a disk (besides neither him or I have an external cd drive). I believe they are supposed to supply you with a way to reset the system - it says press F7 to recover. If you do that it Loads 'Hi-Grade Recovery', and gices you two options. 1) 'Safely Reboot' - this just reboots and takes me back to the same problem 2) 'Restore Backup' - This opens up a black script window which says the following: ---- Finding SOURCE drive Finding DESTINATION drive *** THE INSTALLATION DRIVE DESTINATION WAS NOT DETECTED *** Press any key to continue... ---- If I press something, then the following is displayed - ---- . . . This operation will destroy all the data on your C: drive press Control-C to cancel <hold hown control key and press the C key at the same time> . . . Press any key to continue... ---- Does anyone know what will happen if I continue? Does this delete windows .etc, or does it just in effect perform a factory reset? Thanks |
Either my hard drive is lacking a BOOTMGR or the BOOTMGR for the hard drive is missing, because nothing will boot from the USB. The harddrive is clean. Not the multiple images of Windows XP I have or Hiren's BOOT CD (While booting from a USB drive). Kehilangan BOOTMGR atau BOOTMGR is missing terkadang terjadi karena mencoba mengotak ngtik sistem windows, hardisk yang tidak terpasang dengan benar, merubah registry. After starting my PC today, I was staring at a little message on my screen that said Missing operating system.
