Today, The Paper Engine, Aaron`s acclaimed work on sophisticated card magic, takes this notion one step further, arguing that the theatrical aesthetic can and should be applied on a level more fundamental than that of performance: to technique itself.
Aaron Fisher Paper Engine
Through detailed explanations of technical artistry and principles, The Paper Engine teaches you by exploring the important concepts of tension, focus, and design how to construct and perform magic thats built on a framework of impeccable structural engineering. Many of the sleights that appear in the book have become, in fact, the Gold Standard for modern sleight-of-hand artists:
Paper Engine Models
Gravity Half Pass
One-Hand PopOver
Revolution Color Change
Nowhere Pass
Illusion Control
And yet this is not a book on optimal finger positioning. On the contrary, it is a work that envisions the larger picture, even as it crafts the small. A work that makes your magic softer, tensionless and truly invisible. While some of the material is challenging, The Paper Engine is designed to have you performing miracles for living, breathing audiences. Youll learn powerful, audience-tested effects including:
Search & Destroy, featuring The Nowhere Pass
The Omen
The Standing Challenge
Fishers Favorite Inversion
The Revolution

| PaulSharke Regular user 120 Posts | 1 The Rising looks like a rework with a simplified handling of the most hard-core trick he taught on his Penguin lecture. Fourtopia looks like it's something that's taught on that same lecture as well, though you get some additional materials on attention management and acquiring a break in the context of the trick. Betrayal (here, I'm totally guessing) may use a sleight from the Paper Engine. Otherwise, I'm not sure. But it's a very quick, visual effect, one you might use to open a set. For my money, Quadrophenia's worth the purchase of all four. The first transformation looks sharp; the second transformation looks even sharper. They're super cheap right now (before Dec 22), and I love the way Aaron teaches. For me this purchase was a no-brainer. | |||||||||

Thanks Aaron, your handling is elegant as always. Most memorable moment - with Maestro Juan Tamariz & Consuelo Lorgia in FISM Busan 2018. | hornet Veteran user Herts, England 368 Posts | 0 Think it's $8.95 but I was thinking the same thing at $25-30 per trick that would be steep! | |||||||||

| Slackerking Special user 607 Posts | 0 Where is Quadrophenia for $3? I don't see that anywhere. Also where does $8.95 each come from? The website says they're going to retail at +$25 ea. Anyways, $13 for four really fantastic effects is a bargain. | |||||||||

| taller8 Inner circle Olympia, Washington 1074 Posts | 1 I started watching The Rising, and it's great. Even if you don't perform the given routine, there are two very nice sleights that you can add to your database of card moves. Aaron Fishers teaching is informative and precise as always. Great deal here for the semi serious card guy. | |||||||||
| Slackerking Special user 607 Posts | 0 Quadrophenia is sick, completely worth the price of admission and not that difficult. The others are great too, but more difficult and probably out of my skill level at this point. The teaching is fantastic, detailed and straightforward. The Rising is equally stunning, but it's going to take me a while to be able to perform this adequately. Totally glad I purchased this though, Quadrophenia is a keeper for me. There's even a nice bonus that's great too. | |||||||||

It's amazing, people will criticize you for 'biting the hand that feeds you,' while they're busy praising the hand that beats them. 'You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.' | Craig Logan Special user Michigan 537 Posts | 0 I figured I'd give this a bump. I bought this and only have had a chance to watch the Rising, but this was a no-brainer. So much stuff packed into the download as well as a bunch of bonus material (including a PDF of Paper Engine). When I digest the material, I'll try to post a through review, but that won't happen until after the holidays. The sale ends tonight, BTW. | paperinick Inner circle my faro is starting to look nice after 1120 Posts | 1 Same for me. A free PDF copy of the paper engine was the deal closer. Aaron is a very good teacher. I love the passion for the details he puts in his material. No brainer for $12.95 I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death my right to say 'scr*w you' if you persist.
